Corporate teams were accidentally exposing sensitive data through improper Google Drive sharing. Research shows improper file sharing is a major contributor to data breaches (Ponemon Institute, 2025; MIT Sloan, 2024). This training addresses secure permission management to reduce insider risk and workflow inefficiencies.
Using an Action Mapping approach, this 10-minute microlearning module focuses exclusively on the behaviors that prevent data exposure. Rather than presenting information, it provides practice in the critical actions of:
Assigning correct permission levels through branching scenarios that mimic real-world decisions
Understanding nested folder inheritance through drag-and-drop activities
Learning from mistakes with immediate, contextual feedback in a safe environment
The experience is supported by a job aid poster for ongoing reference, ensuring the learning translates directly to daily work.
Take a few minutes to try the interactive module below:
Persona 1: Maria, Project Coordinator
Tech Comfort: Moderate
Challenges: Accidentally over-shares editor access
Needs: Clear rules for assigning roles
Persona 2: Jamal, New Hire
Tech Comfort: High but new to Google Workspace
Challenges: Unsure about nested permissions
Needs: Hands-on practice with visual aids
Scaffolded Learning - Progresses from basic roles to complex inheritance
Active Practice - Scenario-based decision making in realistic contexts
Immediate Feedback - Turning mistakes into learning opportunities
Adult Learning Principles - Concise, practical, and hands-on content
10-minute microlearning format for busy professionals
SCORM-compliant for LMS tracking
Balanced realism with brevity to prevent cognitive overload
Supports varied learning preferences (visual, interactive, scenario-based)
While this is a portfolio case study, the solution was designed with clear success metrics in mind:
Performance: Target 90% correct application of permission levels in scenario-based assessments.
Efficiency: 10-minute microlearning format designed for 95%+ completion rates.
Business Impact: Business Impact: Projected to reduce data security incidents and associated compliance risks from improper file sharing.
Transfer: Job aid support ensures learning translates directly to daily workflow tasks.
